I didn't post yesterday because I was far too jet-lagged, but I have arrived safely in Bath! To be honest that was a feat in and of itself. My flight touched down at 9am local time--so 3am according to my circadian rhythm--which meant that when I arrived in Bath, I was so tired I could barely remember my own name.
8 am in the Amsterdam airport = 2 am according to my internal clock = 1 exhausted traveler.
Fortunately, a good night's sleep helped me reset for today, which was the first day of my orientation with the Advanced Studies in England program. Though I spent most of the day in meetings, I also got to wander the city for a bit. The highlight of the day was probably purchasing authentic English fish and chips, which were absolutely delicious.
They taste even better than I thought they would.
Unfortunately, nothing terribly exciting has happened yet in regards to literature. However, I hope to visit Mr. B's Emporium Bookshop within the next few days, and my post about it will likely feature entirely too many exclamation marks. I will also be visiting Stonehenge, Salisbury, and Lacock on Sunday and will hopefully get some good pictures to share.
Thanks for reading!
